Clan SteelClaw Voice Cast

LIGHTS, CAMERA…
Ok, this is a daft little section dedicated to assigning
voice actors to the clan. I've taken these actors from essentially
the same pool of sources, but see what you think.
Thaylog -------------- Keith David
Starting off with an obvious one. Inherited from
his dad and grandad, the strong rumbling voice is perfect.
Flynt -------------- Patrick Stewart
Calm, yet with a capacity to display an extremely
diverse range of emotions, Patrick's perfect. Also, there's a classical
edge to Flynt's medieval roots.
Diamond -------------- Sheena Easton
If you don't recognize the name, she was the voice
of Robyn and Finella. A cool assurance makes Sheena seem right. Without
knowing more about Diamond's character, I can't really guess more.
Shaiya -------------- B.J. Ward
Voiced loads of bit-parts in Gargoyles, but as the
Lady of the Lake she displayed the most mysticism. Which makes her a good
Shaiya candidate.
Sabrina -------------- Melissa Joan Hart (!)
Err… moving swiftly on.
Kahreen -------------- Mimi Woods
I've never heard her, but Kahreen reckons she's
perfect. She dubbed Ghost in the Shell (?).
Llewelyn -------------- Maitland Ward
Playing a bubbly and excitable student called Rachel
in ‘Boy Meets World’, she seemed like an appropriate choice for the role
of Llewelyn.
Vashkoda -------------- Elin Jenkins
I swapped a few roles around to accommodate this,
and now the casting makes more sense. Elin did the BBC Radio Production
of ‘Lord of the Rings’, and did a wonderful Eowyn. That nobility and assurance,
mixed with mysticism makes her a pretty good Vashkoda methinks.
Ed -------------- Rider Strong
I originally thought of British actors (Ian Holm
particularly – he's a fabulous actor), but eventually I went for Rider, another ‘Boy Meets World’ actor. As Shaun, he's had a load of brilliant roles, although he's probably more suited to screen acting than voice acting.
Silver -------------- Kath Soucie
Although I originally plummed for Cree Summer, who
did a wonderful Dulcy, I eventually cast Kath. You may recognize the name
as the Weird Sisters or Katherine, but in the action-drama ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’
series (the second one they made) she did an excellent Princess Sally. Nice tone, and a mix of a motherly nature and a warrior, I'm sure Kath would make a great Silver.
Lobos -------------- Jeff Bennett
I don't know much about Lobos, but from the stories
on him he seems somewhat immature and clutzy. So I thought, why not have
the voice of the original Gargoyles jinx on there? Yes, Vinnie's voice
for Lobos…
Gigi -------------- Elisa Pensler Gabrielli
Whilst I know next to nothing about the character,
I thought the voice of Obsidianna would go well.
Ansalong -------------- Marina Sirtis
I think Marina's chilling work as Demona lends herself
very well to playing Ansalong.
MadBrook -------------- Jeff Bennett
Is MB supposed to have an accent like the RL person
(as with Kahreen)? Unless this is the case, MB's Brooklyn's clone, so why
shouldn't he have his voice?
Chaeslon -------------- Robert Stevens
Another BBC Radio LOTR actor. Portrayed with brilliance
the lost nobility, introspective nature
and mystery of Aragorn, and I'm sure would be superb in many parts,
but most notably as Chaeslon.
Cairo -------------- Rachel Ticotin
This was tough, since Cairo's another character
I know quite little about. In the end I went for the cool-but-firm voice
that brought you Maria Chavez. |
